photo booth!
Today was a happy day for a variety of reasons. One of these reasons was because I made a conscious decision to live in the moment, truly. We had quite a few errands and stops to make and I knew it would be easy for me and Jameson to get distracted or frustrated. Planning ahead helped…I ♥ the organized side of my brain – especially when it means we have a smooth day! So we started to day out with a little extra sleep. I am amazed at the difference it can make in my day when I get to sleep until 7:30 or even 7:45 instead of 6:50. Honestly I don’t think less than an hour should make that big of a difference but it does, at least to my body anyway! We got up and took Jax outside for a bit and then came back in and had breakfast together. I put a show on for Jameson, put Jax in his crate and headed to the shower. It is always nice to be able to take my time with the HOT water. After we did a few other things around the house, including collecting trash & making snacks for the day we headed out the door. Our first stop was at the recycle center. For those that don’t live near us, we have the option of taking all of our trash to a local recycle center instead of having a trash truck pick it up. There are pros and cons to this system. One major pro is that we get to take part in recycling things another good thing is that we can take trash anytime we want and don’t have to wait until trash day. The downfall is that we have to actually transport the trash. I’ve basically gotten used to just taking it and not complaining about the chore. After we’d dumped trash we headed onto our second stop for the day…the dentist! This morning I was talking to Jameson about going to the dentist and how he was going to need to open his mouth wide for our hygienist. She typically tells him she wants to count his teeth so I reminded him of this step. He looked at me and said well mom you know I haven’t lost any teeth so why would she need to count them again, it hasn’t changed. Smarty pants. We got to the dentist and found out that there was scheduling issue and Jameson was going to be with a new hygienist. This actually worked out to be much better. His hygienist asked if he’d like to race me to see who could get done first…he was all excited for this challenge and in fact did win! We both got good reports from the dentist and we were off to stop number 3 for the day. On the way we ran through to grab some lunch, Zaxby’s one for Jameson because of the seasoning on the fries! (My diet will have to wait just one more day. I can’t seem to find any nutritional food to eat on the go.) Our third stop was at the outlet mall to get James a new pair of jeans and to see if they had any fun Valentine shirts for the little boy {
here is a link to the adorable shirt Jameson got! Not sure how this listing is so high because the one I purchased was under $10}. We scored on both accounts and off we went for the highlight of the day…a visit with our good friends, the
Higgins! On our way to their house I called Sarah, using the hands-free option in my truck (more on this later), she asked if we would like to pick Aubrey up from school. Of course we would, Jameson loves getting to see where is friends go to school. We go Aubrey and as we were walking out to our truck he asked how much longer it would be until he could come to our house. Love that Jameson’s friends want to come to our house! We had a nice visit with all of them and then it was time to head home. I feel so blessed to have Sarah in my life! Now James on the other hand might not like it so much because after seeing a
new pair of shoes she had, I just had to order some for myself! ha! On another note, the above sunset photo was taken from Sarah’s yard earlier today (photo taken with my iPhone).

Build-A-Bearville
Once we were home Jameson did what he thinks he should be able to do every evening…played on Build-a-bearville with our friend Avery, Kelley’s daughter. She will be 10 next month and I am amazed at this blossoming friendship. They talk on the phone while they play online together. It is so sweet! Kelley & I have decided that we need to make a scrapbook page about this. So tonight I took a screen shot of their session (they are the two next to each other in the lower left corner). Notice the BFF shirts! Jameson earned those for them this weekend we went to build-a-bear workshop! Speaking of going to the store, while we were at the mall I spotted a photo booth. We had a good time in there with his new furry friend, Jax (yes named after our puppy!). Not sure why James didn’t want in on the fun but regardless we had a good time having silly pictures made!
On another note, yesterday I watched the Oprah show when she was talking about the risks associated with texting and driving as well as talking on the phone while driving. It really hit home for me. I’ve been much better lately but I still had room for improvement. So starting today I will now place my phone out of reach while I’m driving so I’m forced not to use it while driving. On the show there was a statistic that said that talking and driving is like having 4 drinks and texting while driving is like having 8. I would drive after 1 so I’m not sure why I was using my phone. We were on the road for over 120 miles today and I did not text and when I did make a phone call, I used the hands-free option in my truck. And the best part about it, aside from keeping me, Jameson and everyone around us safer…Jameson & I actually just had time to TALK to each other. I love this little man and truly enjoy simply talking to him. So overall this was a very happy day!
