his first date?!

his first date?!

Jameson would tell you he went on his first date today. He is so stinkin’ adorable! There is a little girl at his school that he has been asking to have over to our house since before Christmas break. I let him know that her parents didn’t know us so maybe instead we could see if her mom would bring her to Chick-fil-A sometime. Well today was the day.

On the way there he was telling me that he had decided to blow her a kiss while they were at school. I was listening along to him talk about how cute he thinks she is, etc. Okay really I didn’t think we were going to have discussions like this for many years – he is ONLY FOUR. But then it goes on. So we get to Chick-fil-A and he is a all fidgety because she isn’t there yet. Calm down she’ll come. She did arrive and in addition to her and her mother, her aunt and cousin (who is in Jameson’s class) also were there. I had also invited our friend Caroline, who knows the other two moms. It was a fun play date. So as the kids were all playing we were laughing at the pile of boots. Fun! As everyone was getting their boots on to leave, Jameson told me that his crush had given him a kiss up in the playland. He was so cute talking about it. She was right there as he was telling me. Then he asked her why she had done it. Innocence is so adorable! After we left we were walking at another store and he looked up at me and said “well I guess this means she is my girlfriend, you know she kissed me”. Then later as we were driving home, he said he didn’t think he’d ever have to break up with this girlfriend. I asked him if he was going to marry her one day, he said “Oh not that, just not going to break up with her.” I don’t know where he comes up with all of this stuff!

AddyAt1Now James just got home and telling him about our lunch was the first thing he talked about. Jameson said to him “yeah dad, really she kissed me”. Okay little man we believe you but could you slow down a bit on growing up so stinkin’ fast?!

Speaking of growing up fast, today is the first birthday of our niece, Addy! Here is a photo her mom sent to us this morning with Addy in her birthday hat that Nana Susan made for her! I couldn’t resist doing a little color removal on it. Happy Birthday Adelaine!!
